CHECK IT OUT!

THE MAINE RELEASE NEW SINGLE, ‘PRETENDER’

"We can’t wait to play this one live for our fans and feel that energy again!"

Alternative-Rock band, The Maine, released a new single, “Pretender,” as well as announcing their upcoming “Face Towards The Sun” live stream concert happening at 7 p.m. PT/ 10 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 11, 2021. Tickets for the live stream event are available through the Pillar app.

THE MAINE, “PRETENDER”

The Maine is John O’Callaghan (Lead Vocals, Piano, Rhythm Guitar); Kennedy Brock (Guitar, Back-up Vocals); Jared Monaco (Lead Guitar); Garrett Nickelsen (Bass); and Pat Kirch (Drums, Percussion).

“Pretender” is the fourth single from The Maine’s upcoming eighth studio LP, XOXO: From Love And Anxiety In Real Time due out on Friday, July 9, 2021 via Photo Finish Records in partnership with their 8123 imprint and distributed by Virgin Music Label and Artist Services.

“Pretender” leans more into the “rock” of “pop-rock” than the previous singles from XOXO: From Love And Anxiety In Real Time while still maintaining the catchiness and danceability of the other songs. The song was released alongside a lyric video which gives viewers a glimpse into the writing and recording process of the new record.

“‘Pretender’ shows a different side of the album than what people have heard so far,” stated Drummer Pat Kirch. “It’s all about energy and tempo and really is a song for the summer. We can’t wait to play this one live for our fans and feel that energy again!”

The Maine has also announced a pop-up shop from to 5 p.m. PT on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 1028 South Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles, CA.

The band’s first single from the new record, “Sticky,” has risen to at #19 on Billboard’s Alternative chart and the song recently debuted on the “Alt 18” on SiriusXM’s Alt Nation.

Since the release of “Sticky” The Maine have been steadily putting out new music including “April 7” and most recently “Lips”. The songs have amassed over 9 million combined streams as fans await the release of the full record.

Throughout the spring of 2021, The Maine has hosted a live streamed performance, hosted their own performance delivery service, where fans could request the band to play their new single in front of their house, and most recently performed at a Phoenix Suns game during the NBA Playoffs.

The Maine will head out on tour alongside All Time Low, Movements, Grayscale, and Destroy Boys, on the Sad Summer Festival.
