Akron, Ohio’s Devilstrip has signed with UK-based Broken Road Records. Devilstrip, who is the first American band to sign with the label, is scheduled to release its latest album, Testify, in June.
“We are delighted to have such a fantastic band in Devilstrip join us as our first American artist and look forward to working alongside them for their new album,” stated Anthony Hart, director of Broken Road Records.
The trio – comprised of Lead Vocalist/Guitarist Marc Wasmund, Bassist Graig Lindgren and Drummer Jimmy Gray – have opened for major acts such as Europe, Steel Panther, and Buckcherry, and Tom Kiefer of Cinderella.
With its debut album, Rise, receiving overwhelming acclaim, the ‘rockternative’ Devilstrip has continued to amass a devoted fan base. Television Host and Comedian Don Jamieson (That Metal Show) himself is an avid fan of the band.
“Devilstrip is a modern sounding band with a strong classic rock foundation and a unique lyrical/vocal take,” Jamieson stated. “I could see these guys out with any of the modern bands but also touring with someone like Buckcherry. My faves are ‘Kill the Headlights’, ‘Go,’ and ‘Not What You Need.’”
Devilstrip’s debut album, Rise, is available now from all major online stores, including direct, from www.brokenroadrecords.com.
