Los Angeles-based guitarist/bassist/keyboardist/ producer/composer JASON ACHILLES released his all-instrumental, debut album “Comedown” in 2016 and has been touring the U.S. nonstop in support ever since. ACHILLES is thrilled to reveal he will embark on his first-ever UK tour, kicking off on May 14th in Watford, performing as a two-piece band together with drummer Forrest Mitchell. Full dates can be found below.

ACHILLES self-produced “Comedown” at his Organic Audio Recorders studio in LA with analog rather than digital equipment in order to preserve the authenticity of the recording process. He chose to craft an all-instrumental album as his first release so he could fully control all the musical and technical aspects of the project – from playing all of the instruments himself to writing the songs solo. Influenced by progressive-guitar soundscape groups such as Pink Floyd, Jeff Beck, and Genesis, ACHILLES incorporated the propulsive energy and bombast of experimental rock n’ roll into each of Comedown‘s seven tracks.

Lauded by CBS’ WGCL TV station in Atlanta as “one of the most intriguing songwriters on the West Coast and beyond” along with PASTE Magazine who describe him as “an artist who is breaking waves throughout the indie music scene” while praising his unique musicianship as “stunning from start to finish, creating a sound that is accessible and hypnotizing”, ACHILLEShas performed and recorded alongside luminaries like Robby Krieger (The Doors), Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard, Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake), Fat Mike (NOFX), Chris Wyse (Ace Frehley, The Cult) and John Tempesta (White Zombie, Testament, The Cult).

ACHILLES recently mixed the debut album from Dizzy Reed (Guns N’ Roses) and is a remix producer for Universal Music Group. In addition to composing music for over 100 television shows and independent films, ACHILLES’ original orchestral compositions, Schizmatique No. 1 & 2, were performed and recorded in Europe in 2016 and 2017 by the Budapest Film Orchestra and Prague FILMharmonic Orchestra, and he was commissioned by the award-winning Arnold O. Beckman High School in Irvine, CA to compose an original work, Fantastique No. 1, that was performed by their 70-piece string orchestra in 2018. He also works with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory providing audio engineering expertise for a forthcoming mission that will send a microphone to the surface of Mars to capture the first-ever recorded sounds from another planet.
